Chapter 2 Prelude

What does the word “Antichrist” mean? Is there one person who will stand up in the world, at a time when the earth is coming apart at the seams, who God calls the “Antichrist”? Listen to the words of the apostle John as he considered the same question.

1 John 2:18,

“Little children, it is the last time; and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists, by which we know that is is the last time.”

Who is this man that John is referring to? What are his basic characteristics? Where does he live? To understand the answers to these questions it is very helpful to look at the nations in prophecy.
