May 2004 Comments

You have a very insightful & extensively knowledgeable site dealing the area of Bible prophecy as it relates to the political arena of religious events.
I commend your dedication to such obviously insightful study and research in presenting interesting facts in such a well-organized format that’s easy to follow with understandable charts! This could only be acheived through revelation of the Holy Spirit and diligent study.
These are amazing times in which we live, and Bible prophecy relating to current events can provide the greatest blessing when we take the time to study it, know the times we’re in, and in turn heed it’s warning and make preparation. This is well-needed information in the body today as it is time for us in the body of Christ to wake up and walk in our annointing callings and giftings. I would love to add your site to my list of recommended sites to visit and a couple of articles to my articles section.
I will look for your permission by email, and I’d love to be added to your mailing list as well.
May God continue to bless your loyal dedication to the Kingdom and I pray many will find encouragement and edification in your writings in spite of these evil times which are upon us.

God bless,
Tracie

Hello.

I thought I’d reply briefly to your invitation, of which I thank you. I took a quick look at your site and I got the idea that your articles are very much based on the Bible (the current version of it, I suppose). I tell you a little story…

I was brought up an atheist. I learned to think of religious people as “wimps” and loosers. Jesus Christ was a word that make me nearly feel sick. It was only in 1999 (when I had my 33rd birthday, incidentally) that I finally was ready to accept the teachings of Jesus as something positive. This could be possible only throught the dramatic changes in my worldview, mainly triggered by the crop circle phenomenon.

I understand now that the teachings of Jesus, and the energy of Christ are extremy valuable for the modern people, helping us to understand how we can rise and face the challenge of entering a new step in our evolution, overcoming all the troubles in the way.

However, I’ve found also that the fundamentalist Christian church and indeed through the calculated manipulation of the Bible has twisted Jesus’ teachings into an institution that is more preventing people from understanding them than helping it. Hence I sincerely hope that you also, while following the loving energy of Christ, are openminded enough to question the dogmatic authority of the Church, and the reliability of the Bible. Indeed it seems that the best writings about Jesus’ teachings, the gospel of Thomas, has been left out of the book, because it apparently doesn’t fit the Church’s agenda!

Many of the predictions in the Bible seem to be coming true today. But these predictions mostly originate from sources older than (and most likely more reliable) the Bible. It is wise to look at all sources of information, in all religions, in all philosophies equally – and see they all help to understand the current situation of our world!

In Love and Light,

– martin

I only read the bible to find the errors in it. I use these errors to fight
back agaisnt the bible quoters, who are always trying to scare me into
belief. I do not believe in the bible”s voraciously cruel god the father and
I find that most of the christians I know do not follow the precepts of
Jesus Christ. I have found most of the christians I deal with to be pompous
judgemental, self righteous and even malicious.

I belive they pander to the fear of the unknown and are always trying to
scare us into belief over the threat of hell.
No god that was a true god would condemn anyone to eternal punishment.
God the father is a big bully, and the best way to handle a bully is to
either stand up to him/her or just walk away.

In my life I have made and will continue to make an effort to always be kind
and compassionate, and I will teach my children and others I come into
contact with to do the same. I know I am not perfect but I try, and if that
is not good enough for god so be it.

Where did you find my name to add to your address book ?

It seems rather unique, to hear from you.

Until the mail came i had no idea that you were out there.

The address that you are receiving this from is the work address.

It is truly refreshing to read the truth once in a while, aside from scripture.

Read a few of the letters in the comments section, the few people who have
not opened their eyes will be surprised when the events really start to move.

Thanks for the contact, and i have been enjoying your website.

I will read on.

Thanks. Wayne

Dear Jack,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I was really surprised to see your name in my inbox. Where did you get my e-mail address from? I really liked your web site and i’ll also start reading your book. I’m very intrested in the topic of prophecy so you can also say that i’m very excited!!!
I read your testimony and believe that you were born to serve Him. You have turned your mess into a message and your test into a tesimony! It’s wonderful to know that Jesus loves us just as the way we are and then deals with us indiviually through the Holy Spirit.
May the Lord bless you and keep you in the light of His love.

Greetings – Jack Hook,

I received an email with an invitation to visit your site. I visited it but I don’t have time to read it. I am well grounded in biblical matters and continue to study. I do wish to point out to you that 99 percent of Christian web sites are designed to teach other Christians, sell Christian materials, or persuade another Christian to the site owners’ point of view. The other 1 percent of Christian web sites deals in reaching the lost. There is an obvious imbalance in Christian web sites and I personally believe that more emphasis should be put on reaching the lost. Given the “Great Commission” I am at a loss to understand why this imbalance.

Yours in Christ, Randall

You should base your prophecy research on scripture and less on political beliefs. George Bush is Antichrist and America is Babylon? Come on!!! You can take the Bible literally. It’s very clear that Babylon is in Iraq, and the antichrist will rise up from the revived Roman Empire (Read Daniel 2 and 7). I noticed you never quote scripture when making your predictions and bashing America and our government. I wonder why. True the Left in the U.S. is as humanist and ungodly as Europe these days, but the United States and it’s current government are far from the root of all evil in this world. That seems to be your political opinion and it taints your prophecy study. Are you trying to further the cause of Christ through the study of prophecy, or spread your hate for America and your liberal political opinions? It’s really hard to tell. Read your Bible more and CNN less.

Dear Jack:

I whole heartedly agree with your article. I too met Jack and Rexella Van Impe back about 1963 when he held a weeks conference at the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles (the late Dr. J. Vernon McGee’s pastorate). He has designed his program to bring in more money – that should be obvious inasmuch as he caters to Roman Catholics and others.

He is not the only one who has changed course in these latter days – so has Billy Graham – though he has been off course for many years – at least since the 1950s. I’m not sure if you have read this quote of Billy Graham being interviewed by Robert Schuller of the Crystal Cathedral fame. But here it is! I also have the audio portion of this quote as well.

– Graham also believes that men can be saved apart from the Name of Christ. (Source: 5/31/98 television interview with Robert Schuller, as reported in the May-June 1997, Foundation magazine.):

SCHULLER: Tell me, what do you think is the future of Christianity?

GRAHAM: Well, Christianity and being a true believer — you know, I think there’s the Body of Christ. This comes from all the Christian groups around the world, outside the Christian groups. I think everybody that loves Christ, or knows Christ, whether they’re conscious of it or not, they’re members of the Body of Christ. [How can anyone love Christ or know Christ and not be conscious of it (Rom. 8:9,16; 10:14; 1 John 3:24; 4:13; John 3:18)?] And I don’t think that we’re going to see a great sweeping revival that will turn the whole world to Christ at any time. I think James answered that — the Apostle James in the first council in Jerusalem, when he said that God’s purpose for this age is to call out a people for His name. And that’s what God is doing today, He’s calling people out of the world for His name, whether they come from the Muslim world, or the Buddhist world, or the Christian world, or the non-believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ because they’ve been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus [How can this be? (cf. Acts 4:12; Rom 10:13)], but they know in their hearts that they need something that they don’t have, and they turn to the only light that they have, and I think that they are saved, and that they’re going to be with us in heaven.

SCHULLER: Well, what I hear you saying, that it’s possible for Jesus Christ to come into human hearts and soul and life, even if they’ve been born in darkness and have never had exposure to the Bible. Is that a correct interpretation of what you’re saying?

GRAHAM: Yes, it is, because I believe that. I’ve met people in various parts of the world in tribal situations, that they have never seen a Bible or heard about a Bible, and never heard of Jesus, but they’ve believed in their hearts that there was a God, and they’ve tried to live a life that was quite apart from the surrounding community in which they lived.

SCHULLER: [R.S. trips over his tongue for a moment, his face beaming, then says] This is fantastic! I’m so thrilled to hear you say that! There’s a wideness in God’s mercy!

GRAHAM: There is. There definitely is.

Jack, if you haven’t read the book, “Billy Graham and His Friends,” by Dr. Cathy Burns, I highly recommend that you do. I’m a retired federal criminal investigator, and believe me Dr. Burns brings out his leftist friends like termites coming out of the wall. It’s not the association so much that I’m concerned about, it’s what Graham says about his so-called “friends.” Don’t be afraid to name people when it comes to heresy and apostasy. Born-again believers need to heed the Word of God by exposing these false prophets.

Keep up the good work. By the way, are you familiar with the two volume set of books by R. A. Coombs called “America, The Babylon?” I have read the entire two volumes and it is a masterpiece of research though some of it is speculative. I have the CD which contains the two books – would you like a copy? I will be glad to send it to you if you don’t already have it. The copyright allows me to make one copy – that I can send you. It is very easy to print out or you can read it from your computer monitor.

God bless you. Bob

I don’t know how to address you so I hope you are not offended if I just
say “Mr. Hook.” My original thinking was to address you as Brother Hook
but now out of confusion, I feel lost with that intro.
So, here it goes….

Mr. Hook,

I just read your latest article and it deeply saddened me. In
the past, when I have read your stuff, I have been scared. But not this
time. This time I am sad. Sad because you seem to strongly believe that
the antichrist will come out of the American White House. How I pray it
isn’t so! Sad because I like my President, his wife, and family and I
pray for them. Sad because I think I might respect and love well known
preachers that you may call “fallen.” I don’t know why but it matters
what you write now. I don’t get that because I don’t even know you. I
don’t know your church affiliation or anything about you. All I know is
that your latest article weighs so very heavy on my heart tonight. And I
don’t know what to do about that.

It is so painful for me to think that the antichrist is from the USA. I
don’t mean to be arrogant but I love my country and the leaders of my
country. My President goes to church. He prays. My President talks about
the Lord. Who am I to judge? I do believe he has the best interests of
America in mind.

I know that Billy Graham and his son Franklin have advised the
President. I read that TD Jakes did as well. The Grahams are my favorite
well known preachers along wtih Max Lucado. I listen to contemporary
Christian music like Matthew Ward and Michael W. Smith.
So am I listening to the wrong stuff? is is bad for me to be the
secretary of a Non-Denominational church that even though I consider
myself a Presbyterian. And Mr. Hook, your comments about Catholics and
hell level me. I was raised Catholic. My Dad goes to Mass faithfully and
loves Jesus. But you say bad stuff about Catholics.

And now..all was well until I read your latest article. Me and my heavy
heart are questioning each other.

God bless,
Cindy

Dear Brother Jack:

I read with much interest your first article and the one you have linked here.
Of course, anything is possible (and here’s the but), the White House, or,
even as you indicate, our very own president may eventually turn out to be
the so called “Anti-Christ.”

There will indeed have to be some fascinating ‘miracles’ occur before this
can come to pass. The United States will have to be in existence 1st. I
have very strong doubts about my country for many reasons. A couple of
them are this: 1) Morally, we are being torn down as by Satan. Our country
will not likely last long enough for anything as monumental as you suggest
to occur unless all Christians are deceived. Christ promised his return
before this will happen. . . 2) There is more hair on a frog’s nose then there
is odds that internal strife, politically, financially (and a swarm of other
things) will sooner, rather than later, tare the entire continent up by the
roots. 3) I see WW3 on the horizon. This will have to congeal exactly at
the same time as the ‘strife’ mentioned above to afford the opportunity
for the leadership we now have to be empowered to do what your thesis
suggests.

If you notice . . . I don’t disagree with your projections. It would be
exciting as a Christian to see everything to come together as you have
posed. I trust that I will not be here to see the finale. That, of course, is
my faith talking, as I have been taught, and have studied, and been
assured spiritually . . . will all happen after I am dead and gone or
taken up!

I don’t say that I don’t care! I have taught my children and grandchildren
as best as I can. They will have to decide for themselves their own fate.
I have preached close to what you teach to everyone God has given
opportunity and am unable to decided for them. So, I’ll have to admit
to you, I really don’t care where the evil comes from. We have heard,
we have told (sowed), and we are ready — whatever happens. I know
that your feel strongly about you have written. It comes through in your
words. However, years ago I heard the very same teaching (1950s’) from
a home spun preacher at Calvary Baptist Church, He left that little church on a hill continued his education
and now has his doctorate. He still believed as you and I to some
degree and preached it until his dying day. I am not closed to the
idea. But, what difference does that make. What could your or I
possibly do about it? The clock is ticking and it is a few seconds
before midnight. The Son of God is about to make an appearance.
My eyes will be upon Him.

God bless you and your testimony.

Sincerely, and warmly,

In Christ Jesus, Bob

I read your writings and am some what surprised at some of the comments. Maybe you can answer a question, why isn’t the United States mentioned in the Bible after the Rapture? It names all the countrys that is going to try and conquer Jeruselem. But this part of the world is not mentioned. I will admit our President has let power take over his way of thinkiing , and like thousands of other, I have lost confidence in him and his advisors. Another question,… who is the person that is to come from the old Roman Empire, now known as the European Union? Isn’t he the one who is to be the antichrist? that is what I’ve heard for the last 70 yrs. I am a God loving, Spirit filled christian. God speaks and guides me and had given me advise for others in need.I am a Prayer Warrior for my Heavenly Father.

Hi Mr Hook

I feel you are an honest seeking God person. So I have been for the past fourteen years. I had been member of the Mormon church for more than eighteen years. I was the Elder Quorum president in a local church in England (I am Italian). I was what the church termed “A member in a good standing”, untill I discovered that the thelogy of my church runed solid against the word of God.

From that time I began my personal research. Have you ever read Isaiah chapter 14 and Ezekiel chapter 28 ? Please read that very very carefully, pondering every sentence. It is better you find out now than hereafter.

May the Lord bless you with truth and understanding.

Sincerily Giacomo

Dear Jack:

I was in the middle of reading your latest article when I read that you believe the Antichrist will be an American President (I believe you’re right, it makes sense). I have a question for you, do you think it’s possible that the Antichrist might be the head of the UN? The reason I ask, there are rumors of Europeans trying to nominate Bill Clinton to replace Kofi Annan.

Thank you for all the great information.

God Bless,

Bill

This my “friend” is the second email that I have sent you. I know you believe what you are saying and that is where the problem lies. The problem is that you should be preaching the plan of salvation instead of your “doom and gloom” philosophy. Jeremiah you are not!! You may have the right to interpret the Scriptures as you see it, but that is not a God given right. For someone who does not believe what Christ has commanded so plain and simple has no right to preach prophetically. The last time I wrote I asked you to read my email before deleting it, I don’t think you did and I don’t think you will read this either. You are so worried about something you have no control over that you are over looking the plain and simple truth. If you have been OBEDIENT in ALL things whatsoever He has commanded and are truly a son by adoption, you should be more concerned about the souls of the lost. That, my friend is something you can do. No matter how much you dig into the dark mysteries (they are dark because of people who like to hear about the spectacular) unraveling these mysteries will not save one soul. Jesus warned us of these things and told us to not be concerned about them. He also said not to worry about tomorrow because today is all we can handle. And he also warned us to be ready.

Please take me off your mailing listing. I cannot accept your hatred of
Pope John Paul. He and he alone is a direct decendant of Simon Peter,
the founder of Christ’s church. Do you not believe that Simon Peter
was the chosen leader of Christ’s Church?

As for President Bush, he is evil and corrupted by the Devils
surrounding him.

Jack–If there is going to be an antichrist I supposed George Bush is as
likely a candidate as anyone, especially if we’re talking about an unwitting
antichrist. He’s about as unwitting as anyone I know. However, in my view the whole
matter of biblical prophesy and the end times is in the same nut bin with
UFOs and psychic readings. You claim to be an atheist-turned-pentacostal. With me it was the other way around, and I think both me & the world are better for
it. You’re obviously a heart-rendingly earnest guy, Jack, but you need to wake
up and smell the reality.

It appears to still be your contention that Babylon is America. We find from Jeremiah 50:23, Isaiah 14:6, and Revelation 17-18 make it plain that Babylon rules the world. The USA does not rule the world nor is there an American empire. So we will have to explain how America gets an empire. We will need to use the bible to do this. This is going to be difficult especially because, as things are currently, American power on the world stage is decreasing not increasing. The scriptures show the Anti-Christ coming from an area currently controlled by Syria and Lebanon. Daniel 11:35-45.

Best Regards
Rob

Jack:
There is not even one Bible scholar at a first rate university who would agree with you regarding your concept of prophecy. None at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Union Seminary, Vanderbilt, Emory, Duke, Boston U….I could go on and on. You are struggling and straining to explain to the world what the Bible says about the future. Your work is entirely futile.
Ask yourself for whom was any given passage of the Bible written and why to them?
You will discover if you read commentaries written by the best scholars that you have missed the mark completely. Take Paul’s letters. One was to the church at Rome, another to the Galatian church, two to the church at Corinth, another to the Philippians.
Nothing Paul wrote was written to you. He had no idea you would ever exist. He did not write for any church other than the one he addressed the letter to. Stop wasting your time looking for gnats and ignoring the very big log in your own eye. Sorry friend, your salvation is probably safe, but are you in for a shock when you come to see just how wrong you are.

I thought there would be a message or article on the topic above. But as I view the picture, it tells it’s own story. It is not pretty as the Statue of Liberty is falling apart. I do feel that the government is destroying whatever creditibility our great nation once had. What a shame….We, as a nation, who were honored and privileged to help other countries, has fallen into disgrace and because of Iraq, no longer are we the leaders in this world. I feel sorry for the children growing up in this distorted world, and am glad the nation was a better place to raise children when my sons were being raised. Their values are in place. Yet all I see with the present administration is the rich are getting richer….need I say more… Joan

God bless you Jack, I believe God is using you in a powerful way.

Someone has to speak truth no matter how unpopular it may become.

————————————————-

As a Jewish believer, such a spirit of grief(for the world) and repentance (for my own lukewarmness) came over me as I read this brilliant teaching. You perfectly expressed the upsetness and uneasiness I have been feeling the last few years over this whole situation–the apostacy of Christiandom, our tying of Israel’s hands at every turn, and the new popularity of mid-trib, post trib theology. I was starting to buy that too. whew! It’s a jungle out there and I’m thankful for a few people who speak the clear truth and get people like me back on track (the clear Word of God).

Thanks. Your teachings are much appreciated.
