After reading another edifying article by Rick, I must send it your way and ask that you visit his web site blog http://judahslion.blogspot.com/ and then send him a letter of encouragement. This man is experiencing a genuine renewal in his soul and spirit as he learns and grows in the prophetic knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Each time I read his articles I find myself in the “self” examination room alone with the Lord Jesus Christ asking for his grace, forgiveness, and power to continue in his teachings that are so contrary to this American gospel most of us are taught from our childhood. Rick’s call for Christians to free themselves from the “pride of patriotism” or nationalism through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit is something I have been declaring since 1978. It is a hard lonely road to walk but when we learn that it is all about Jesus, and our relationship to him, the loneliness fades away as we experience his wonderful presence in our born again hearts.
Keep in touch and please send this letter to your friends and family members. Every word of witness that we plant in those around us will not return void of fruit. As we approach the coming 70th week of Daniel, when our Father in Heaven unleashes is judgment upon the nations, we should all be moved to warn everyone we can to flee from the wrath to come and be born into the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Had I ever really stopped to think about it in years past? Did I just blindly accept what others told and taught me? When I was born again and ushered into a system already entrenched in itself, was I wise enough to consult the Spirit or did I just acquiesce to the acceptable and the evangelical norm? The answer is obvious. The older and wiser and ordained dictated my thoughts and ways, and very quickly I became one of them, only retaining my own name.
But as I grew in Him I began to hear and see something that became more and more distressing. How could bloodshed be the way of Jesus? Everything He lived and taught seemed at odds with the principles I had come to embrace. I entered into a season of confusion and a fresh introspection where I would hold everything I thought I knew against the specter of Scriptural truth and the gospel narratives. I had played the fool and what was presented as “sound doctrine” was in reality an open mangling of God’s Word and the Spirit of Jesus. An American spirit had replaced the Spirit of Jesus and I am ashamed to say that I bought into it.
Col.3: 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Just what in God’s dear name does that verse mean? Does that mean we can drop napalm on people in His name? Does it mean we can blow the heads off lost sinners in His name? Does it mean we can drop bomb filled drones on villages in His name? As I have suggested in many posts, the Bible is no longer relevant and surely not taken literally even by the literalists. Can we throw a hand grenade and see several men become unattached to their appendages and then give thanks to God?
And yet that is EXACTLY what churches do. I remember at the beginning of the Iraq war under George Bush the first, and the church service would open in prayer for the safety of the American soldiers. Of course the unspoken part of that prayer is let others die and let Americans live. I look back on those days and it all seems so fleshy and part of the world’s system, but I could not see it back then. I assumed violence and war had to be part of the kingdom of God sometimes because we could not trust Him to take care of us, and anyway God was always quick to defend the country He created. How foolish I was.
Who will take the time and exhibit the vulnerability to search the New Testament and discover if there are allowances for violence and carnage in certain cases? And why didn’t Jesus encourage His followers to violently overthrow the Roman government, after all they were experiencing taxation without representation? Oh, you think that is absurd? You are correct. Think about it.
Line up the idols. The founding fathers, politicians, democracy, capitalism, voting, and America itself. And out of these spring an acceptable way to think and act. Do you see what has happened? We have taken the Word of God, melted it down, and poured into the Statue of Liberty and called it truth. Wow, I know the Spirit is dealing with many thousands of believers across this land. Just from the e-mails I receive I have heard many testimonies of believers who have reassessed everything they thought they knew. But it is most difficult to extricate our hearts and minds from these issues because they have found such deep places within us.
And without exception, we who are set free from the bondage of nationalism and all its accoutrements, we experience an amazing sense of freedom and a new awakening to the Word and the way of Jesus. Oh dear brothers and sisters, I beseech you in His name to ponder these things. We are no better than anyone else, but there is such living water in this freedom. You shall know the truth and you shall be set free. This is not a 1960’s form of rebellion against the establishment. No, this is a return to the Lordship of the Lord Jesus and a submission to His path of self denial.
I can no longer justify bloodshed in His name because the New Testament calls me to a different lifestyle. Oh how many lives have been lost because men have been misguided and thought they are fighting for God when in fact they are fighting against God? The story of mankind continues to be fraught with all kinds of viciousness and sin. And with all the wars that have been fought and won, has it changed one thing? Will the next war end all wars? Will the lives that are lost be nothing to God? And those who follow Jesus, can they massacre other human beings and claim to be His hands and His feet regardless if they champion an earthly cause?
I know, I know. It seems much too radical and way out the mainstream of evangelical thought. I know. But isn’t it time some of us begin to think out of the mainstream of evangelical thought and begin to think as does Our Wonderful Lord of Life? I know…I know. Perhaps we will find time tomorrow to seek His face and hear His voice. Until then let the blood continue to flow. Only honor Him in this way. Do not use His name as the carnage continues. It does not come from Him.
Christians created war on the North American Indians in the name of Jesus Christ and they slaughtered millions of them. Christians created war on Korea, Vietnam and Iraq in the name of Jesus Christ.
Don’t you think it’s time to have American Christians methodically move toward peace on this planet? How about Christians stop supporting the War in Afghanistan.
As to Jesus, how about let’s kill the Buddha at the door. Let’s stop putting all our spiritual apples into one man and start thinking for ourselves, start praying with our own names, start standing on our own feet as enlightened human beings that believe in ourselves, accept ourselves and take responsibility for ourselves.
When I make a mistake, I call on my own being to forgive myself and forgive others. I don’t need some god or iconic figure from the past to take on my mistakes. I’m much happier being responsible for my own actions and I don’t need to give them to some other ‘god’ figure.
Once we come to rational and logical enlightenment, we all take responsibility for ourselves and leave Jesus to his own eternal sleep.

That was an interesting, if not unique, point of view.
It certainly presents the core belief of the ‘conscientious objector’ very well.
And, it certainly shows that the ‘amputated Bible’ (the New Testament exclusive of the Old Testament) is not sufficient by itself to demonstrate all of YHWH’s commands to the modern man.
Recall that Jesus said, “Think ye not that I have come to destroy the Law, but to fulfill it…. Truly, I say to you that not one jot or tittle shall pass away until it be fulfilled.” That includes the concept of a ‘just war’ which was one of the commandments that YHWH gave to the Hebrews when they crossed over Jordan.
The Bible correctly translated does not prohibit killing. It does prohibit murder. A homocide committed while under unjustified attack is nothing more nor less that ‘justifiable homocide’. A homocide committed for gain or revenge not proven justified by verdict in courts of law is murder.
‘Collateral damage’, the euphemism for the excess deaths caused by the application of deadly force without proper discrimination for the actors versus the bystanders, is an unfortunate side effect of modern warfare. It is to be realized that all the people of a country who do not rebel against their leaders who have wrongfully led them into war and who continue to support their troops by giving them aid, comfort and supply are viable targets. The chargeable persons in those deaths are the country’s leaders who have wrongfully waged war not the troops we have sent to fight for the defence of our God-given country.
You would bow your head to the mohammedan’s sword without a struggle to defend our country or our faith and for that YHWH will apply the just reward. Such an action is tantamount to suicide. Even if you succeed in depriving our country of its fighting men and women, the mohammedans will still not let you live. They will force many to accept a false religion in abject terror because of your selfish failure to give that gift that Jesus gave: There is no greater gift that a man can give than to lay down his life for his friends. Jesus sacrificed himself so you could have this moment to pontificate about your theory of Holiness by abstention from killing.
And, you will betray Him by refusing to do the same for your friends, if the need arises.
You might want to reconsider your position. I do not believe that is what Jesus had in mind for his followers.

Jack, I believe he (Rick Frueh) is mostly right about what we should be doing and don’t… I also think that we go to war in the name of GOD because before Jesus, it is clear that GOD fought evil by killing it.. If indeed the alignment of the center of the Milky Way and the black hole found there do create such havoc on earth that we are thrown into total chaos, I can’t help but wonder what we are supposed to do as Christians and believers in the Words of Christ. If, at this time, one finds him/herself with more than their neighbors (food, supplies, water, gardens, gasoline, etc.), it will be impossible to keep these items or even to share them since people will be consumed with violence to take what they want or need. As the inevitable draws near, I find myself becoming increasingly nervous…not so much for myself or my well-being as for my extended family and my ten grandchildren.
It is only through constant prayer that I am able to find any peace of mind. The Lord has assured me that when the time comes, He will stand by me while making all things tolerable. I can only imagine how the Christians felt as they faced certain death in the arenas of Rome knowing that soon they would be together with Christ for an eternity. I believe that it is this certainty (eternal life) that resolves the fear of death so that it has no hold on my life now or ever.
Once one gets over the fear and uncertainty of death, the rest simply seems to fall in place. I have no desire to die soon…but, on the other hand, I would have no regrets should it happen tomorrow. Many of my relatives and friends are preparing for the worst by buying supplies, guns, and ammunition to protect their earthly storehouses. They see my resolve to give what I have away as pure foolishness and folly. I will not lay one hand on anyone to do them harm…not now…not when the chaos consumes all normality.

To make this discussion succinct, I continue to ask for New Testament license to violently overthrow your government because of being over taxed. In fact, please provide New Testament Scripture which suggests a violent overthrow of any government by followers of Jesus is allowed. I cannot defend violence unless it is part and parcel of New Testament teachings. Let it be known that many believers who are veterans are now questioning and even abandoning their former beliefs. But that aside, we must bow to the teachings of Scripture. And even though we believe we have come to embrace New Testament truth, we are only indebted to His grace and not our own intelligence. Why did Jesus tell His disciples to buy a sword ??

That was an interesting, if not unique, point of view.
It certainly presents the core belief of the ‘conscientious objector’ very well.
And, it certainly shows that the ‘amputated Bible’ (the New Testament exclusive of the Old Testament) is not sufficient by itself to demonstrate all of YHWH’s commands to the modern man.
Recall that Jesus said, “Think ye not that I have come to destroy the Law, but to fulfill it…. Truly, I say to you that not one jot or tittle shall pass away until it be fulfilled.” That includes the concept of a ‘just war’ which was one of the commandments that YHWH gave to the Hebrews when they crossed over Jordan.
The Bible correctly translated does not prohibit killing. It does prohibit murder. A homocide committed while under unjustified attack is nothing more nor less that ‘justifiable homocide’. A homocide committed for gain or revenge not proven justified by verdict in courts of law is murder.
‘Collateral damage’, the euphemism for the excess deaths caused by the application of deadly force without proper discrimination for the actors versus the bystanders, is an unfortunate side effect of modern warfare. It is to be realized that all the people of a country who do not rebel against their leaders who have wrongfully led them into war and who continue to support their troops by giving them aid, comfort and supply are viable targets. The chargeable persons in those deaths are the country’s leaders who have wrongfully waged war not the troops we have sent to fight for the defence of our God-given country.
You would bow your head to the mohammedan’s sword without a struggle to defend our country or our faith and for that YHWH will apply the just reward. Such an action is tantamount to suicide. Even if you succeed in depriving our country of its fighting men and women, the mohammedans will still not let you live. They will force many to accept a false religion in abject terror because of your selfish failure to give that gift that Jesus gave: There is no greater gift that a man can give than to lay down his life for his friends. Jesus sacrificed himself so you could have this moment to pontificate about your theory of Holiness by abstention from killing.
And, you will betray Him by refusing to do the same for your friends, if the need arises.
You might want to reconsider your position. I do not believe that is what Jesus had in mind for his followers.

Jack, I believe he (Rick Frueh) is mostly right about what we should be doing and don’t… I also think that we go to war in the name of GOD because before Jesus, it is clear that GOD fought evil by killing it.. If an enemy attacks me I don’t believe GOD wants me to just lay down and die or be a slave to Satan. I don’t think Jesus would want that either.. Killing other humans is GOD’S way of killing evil, isn’t it ?? I am totally uncommitted to this mans way of life and thinking way of life.. It is the utopia that all Christians would want.. GOD willing… I say to him, good luck my friend and say Hi to Jesus for me.. It is time for GOD to take his people and destroy the evil on earth to fulfill the prophecies..

If indeed the alignment of the center of the Milky Way and the black hole found there do create such havoc on earth that we are thrown into total chaos, I can’t help but wonder what we are supposed to do as Christians and believers in the Words of Christ. If, at this time, one finds him/herself with more than their neighbors (food, supplies, water, gardens, gasoline, etc.), it will be impossible to keep these items or even to share them since people will be consumed with violence to take what they want or need. As the inevitable draws near, I find myself becoming increasingly nervous…not so much for myself or my well-being as for my extended family and my ten grandchildren.
It is only through constant prayer that I am able to find any peace of mind. The Lord has assured me that when the time comes, He will stand by me while making all things tolerable. I can only imagine how the Christians felt as they faced certain death in the arenas of Rome knowing that soon they would be together with Christ for an eternity. I believe that it is this certainty (eternal life) that resolves the fear of death so that it has no hold on my life now or ever.
Once one gets over the fear and uncertainty of death, the rest simply seems to fall in place. I have no desire to die soon…but, on the other hand, I would have no regrets should it happen tomorrow. Many of my relatives and friends are preparing for the worst by buying supplies, guns, and ammunition to protect their earthly storehouses. They see my resolve to give what I have away as pure foolishness and folly. I will not lay one hand on anyone to do them harm…not now…not when the chaos consumes all normality.
Bless you Jack for your letters. They always make me look inside myself and they always reassure me that my path is with Christ.

To make this discussion succinct, I continue to ask for New Testament license to violently overthrow your government because of being over taxed. In fact, please provide New Testament Scripture which suggests a violent overthrow of any government by followers of Jesus is allowed. I cannot defend violence unless it is part and parcel of New Testament teachings. Let it be known that many believers who are veterans are now questioning and even abandoning their former beliefs. But that aside, we must bow to the teachings of Scripture. And even though we believe we have come to embrace New Testament truth, we are only indebted to His grace and not our own intelligence. I am not a Quaker, just a seeker.
